I'm a Minnesota dad who has been flooding a backyard rink every winter since my kids were little. Some of our best family memories were made out there — skating under the lights, chasing pucks, and soaking in the kind of winter you don't avoid… you embrace.

But every year, the same question lingered:

How do you keep kids warm — and feel a little better about the inevitable falls that come with ice?

When they were young, they wore helmets. As they got older and started skating casually on the pond, there was no product that felt right — nothing warm, comfortable, discreet, and built specifically for real outdoor skating.
