Why Choose RinkSmart

RINKSMART — Above the Others by Design

Born on the pond. Built for the ice.

A premium winter beanie engineered with integrated High-performance rate-dependent impact protection foam impact-assist zones — designed for outdoor skating, pond hockey, and real northern winters.

1. Designed for Outdoor Ice Play

Unlike general-purpose padded hats, RinkSmart was created specifically for:

• Outdoor rinks

• Backyard ice

• Youth pond hockey

• Long winter sessions

It’s built for how northern families actually skate.

2. Engineered with High-performance rate-dependent impact protection foam Impact-Assist Technology

RinkSmart integrates flexible High-performance rate-dependent impact protection foam — a performance material used in elite sports equipment — to provide low-profile impact-assist cushioning while maintaining warmth and comfort.

Soft during normal wear. Responsive under sudden force.

No hard shells. No rigid plates.

3. Warmth First. Impact-Assist Where It Matters.

RinkSmart looks like a real pond hockey beanie — because it is.

You get:

• True winter warmth

• Integrated impact-assist zones

• Low-profile comfort

• Hockey-first design

4. Built by a Hockey Family

Designed by a Minnesota hockey dad who lives the game — not a safety lab or industrial gear supplier.

The RinkSmart Difference

Born on the pond. Built for the ice.

RinkSmart PondCraft is not a helmet and is not intended to replace certified protective headgear. Impact-assist padding is designed to provide supplemental cushioning and does not prevent concussion or serious injury.

The Technology Inside Every Hat

Every RinkSmart/WinterSmart pad starts as flat PORON® XRD® foam, precision-cut to fit two very different zones of a the head.

The forehead/temple pad is thinner and less dense — 5mm at 12 lb/ft³ — shaped long and tapered to wrap comfortably across the brow without adding bulk.

The rear occipital pad is thicker and denser — 6mm at 15 lb/ft³ — arched to match the curve of the back of the skull, where falls on ice most often land.

Both pads are sewn permanently into the fabric shell — not tucked into a pocket you could forget to close, or lose on laundry day. Once it's in, it stays exactly where it's designed to work.
